I'm so happy I learned that it was banned book week before the week ended. I think this week is a wonderful campaign to enlighten people to read these so called books that were banned for different reasons. I honestly love books and believe we can learn something from each and every one of them.
I wanted to find a tangible list of all the books that have been banned but haven't found a detailed list. I did find that some of my FAVORITE books of all time, were once banned.
The reason these books are my favorite is because they moved me in some way more than other books have. I can remember specific details about the books even though it has been years since reading them.
I hope you look up some of your favorite books to see if they have been banned. They will most likely be banned somewhere, I think people have attempted to censure society from the best books.
In result of banned book week, I'm reading Drown by Junot Diaz. This book was banned in Arizona after voting to ban Mexican American studies. Hope this week encourages you to read a banned book. Let me know what book you're reading!
