OMG guys! Mock meat is seriously amazing!!! I recently went to the supermarket and was delighted to find so many vegan options, including mock meat. I haven't been eating meat for a year now but I never really liked eating mock meat because I thought the texture would be weird. Boy was I wrong. I picked up a bag of beefless ground by Gardein and I seriously can't wait to make Taco Tuesday a thing again!
So let's make some tacos, you will need:
- handful of mushrooms sliced
- one onion sliced
- a bag of beefless ground (Gardein)
- Packet of taco seasoning
- a can of refried black beans with lime juice (Kuner's of Colorado was delicious)
- handful of cilantro
- half a diced red onion
- one and a half tomato
- cut up lettuce
- wheat tortillas (or corn tortillas if you want to make it gluten free)
- nutritional yeast (for taste)
In a pan sauté onions and mushrooms, once they are done put to the side. Heat up the can of black beans over low heat on the stove top. While this is heating, cut up cilantro, tomatoes, and red onion to make some salsa. Lastly heat up the beefless ground and sprinkle the taco seasoning over it. To get the seasoning into the beefless ground, drizzle some water over the "meat." Place all your ingredients in different bowls and place on table and make yourself some tacos! Don't forget to sprinkle some nutritional yeast over those tacos.
